Displaying a List of Links in your Sidebar with Widgets

Many themes have Link listing support, but if not you can activate it manually by turning on Widgets/Links. Remember, the Widgets will override everything in your sidebar by default, but you can add the corresponding widgets back one by one in the Widgets section of your WordPress admin. Re-add Search and other widgets to get their functionality.
This is a handy tool for quickly adding content to your WordPress blog without having to manage placement of individual links. Widgets give you control over randomising content in the sidebar as well, good for making your page look fresh and highlighting different pieces of content to different users at different times.

The WordPress dashboard provides you with a birds-eye view of your blog operations. It’s an overview of what’s going on and it’s a very easy tool to use. When you first land on the dashboard you’ll be presented with different panes of content that contain different pieces of information.
